Those interested in busking at a Town of Midland event or on any Town of Midland property must complete this application form. The Town of Midland will review the application and determine if the busking activity is appropriate for the event or to take place on municipal property.
Applications will be reviewed on quality of the performance/activity, suitability of the activity/how it fits with the event and/or space, and overall variety of performers at an event. If approved, buskers will then need to complete the Hawkers and Peddlers Application found at midland.ca under Town Hall Applications Licences and Permits Applications, fulfill all requirements and pay the appropriate fee. Town staff will not follow up on any incomplete application forms.
Examples of Buskers includes, but is not limited to, musicians, artists, dances, magicians, living statues, clown, puppeteers. In accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection to Privacy Act (MFIPPA), personal information is collected under the authority of the Municipal Act, 2001, S.O. 2001, c. 25 and will be used for the purpose of this survey. Annual Deadlines: Applications must be received no later than March 1 at 4:00pm for the calendar year.
Acceptance: All applicants will be notified by email no later than 30 days after the applications close. Please note: you must include your correct email address on your application.
Insurance: Each busker must provide proof of liability insurance listing the Town of Midland as an additional insured for Commercial General Liability with a minimum limit of $2,000,000.
If buskers do not have their own insurance they must purchase insurance for the day of the performance(s). A Certificate of Insurance must be provided a minimum of 4 weeks before the date of busking.
